----------------------------Progress Report-------------------------
As of April 30, 2018: Ultimately today, April 30th, 2018, was to be a pivotal day for CAMMDA by submitting its bid for the OCL. Tomorrow, May 1, will be the day that the County of SLO opens the bids. However, due to extenuating circumstances such as being a young nonprofit organization, the absence of appropriate sources of funding, and general skepticism that the OCL building itself was a wise venue to pursue, CAMMDA will not be able to provide a bid to the County of SLO at this time. CAMMDA will, however, continue to persist as an organization poised to fulfill its mission. Please continue to keep an eye on this page for future activities. We look forward to serving the community in the ways most vital and needed at any given time. Thank you for your encouragement and support during these transformative periods in our town. Onward and upward.

As of April 3, 2018: Editor Stephen Provost of The Cambrian newspaper has published an article regarding CAMMDA's effort to bid on the OCL.

As of March 28, 2018: Samuel Shalhoub and CAMMDA are now in the processing of soliciting donations to be used exclusively towards the purchase of the Old Cambria Library. Please contact Samuel if you are interested in becoming a donor.

As of March 24, 2018: CAMMDA has been determined to be exempt from federal income tax and has qualified for contribution deductibility under IRC Section 170. CAMMDA's public charity status is recorded as 509(a)(2).

As of March 2, 2018: Samuel Shalhoub has started a funding campaign to support the bidding process, ( which can be found here. )

As of February 7, 2018: The San Luis Obispo Board of Supervisors has approved a public auction of the OCL, which is now slated for May 1st, 2018. This will be another (and probably the last) opportunity for CAMMDA to purchase the building for all Cambrians to use.

As of October 26, 2017: The CCSD failed to secure funds to purchace the OCL. Therefore CAMMDA will once again attempt to purchase the building.

As of September 11, 2017: The CCSD voted 3-2 to purchase the Old Cambria Library building. As such, the Academy is moving forward toward accomplishing its mission in another facility.
